Here are some of the most frequently asked questions and the answers:
1) What happens to my car when I am away?
Your vehicle will be taken away directly to be parked in one of our secure off-airport car-parks. A day or so prior to your return your vehicle may be driven the short distance to the compound nearest to your terminal. We do not disclose the exact location of our secure car-parks for security reasons.
2) How do I know I am handing my keys over to the right person?
This is a valid concern and it is only right you should be careful when handing over car keys. We ensure that our Personal Travel Assistants and our customers follow extra security precautions. One of these is the secret password that YOU choose before your departure date and this must be confirmed between you and your Personal Travel Assistant on the day. Our representatives also wear identification badges.
3) What about insurance?
It is very important customers understand that we do not cover vehicles or the contents there-in for theft. Your vehicle should be covered for theft under the terms of your own motor insurance policy. Our own motor insurance is there solely for us to drive your vehicle from the airport to one of our compounds and then back on the date of return. Do please check your own insurance policy details to be sure before booking and please refer to our terms and conditions for further clarification if required.
4) I have never heard of 'Meet & Greet' before, is it new?
Surprisingly, 'Meet & Greet' and 'Chauffeur/ Valet' parking has been around for quite some time, but was traditionally much more expensive than the usual 'Park and Ride' car-park / bus service. That is why many people have not heard of this type of parking. The philosophy of Value Individual Parking is all about making this kind of fantastic personal service available to the every day traveller because we believe that in the future, the majority of people will use 'Meet & Greet' due to the unbelievable convenience.
5) Having appointment times for meeting VIP concerns me as I might be late!
Naturally, in this day and age, journey times can be unpredictable, so the appointment time you choose is a ballpark guide. On the day of your departure we do try to be as flexible as possible if customers are running early or late. We keep in touch via mobile phone and try to be as accommodating as is reasonably possible. At busy times, if we cannot meet you before the original agreed time, we may ask you to stop off for a coffee or instead pay a little extra to park in the Heathrow short-stay car park until our P.T.A. can get to you.
On the day you get back to Heathrow, we know by checking the flight number if your plane has been delayed and subject to other customer commitments, we will get to you as soon as we can if a flight delay does occur.
6) How long has 'V.I.P' been in business?
Value Individual Parking is a family-run business and was launched in 2004. We have served thousands of very happy customers, many of whom have become regular customers. Please refer to our testimonials page for some of the lovely feedback we have received recently.
7) Do you operate this service at other UK airports?
At this moment in time we only operate at London Heathrow airport but we do have plans to expand to other UK airports in the future.
8) How can your prices be so good?
Our philosophy is similar to that of the low cost airlines who shook up the industry by bringing prices and high profit margins down. As flights used to be, airport parking is becoming extremely costly to the general public. By ensuring efficient systems, reduced profit margins and low overheads, we pass the savings on to our customers.
9) My car is worth more than 50k, can I still book with VIP?
Yes. However any claim will be limited to 50k.
10) How do I choose my meet VIP times?
Easy! On date of departure we recommend your meet VIP time is prior to your check-in time.
(It is best to allow some safety time as Heathrow is a hectic place.)
Upon return, your meet time should be a minimum of 45 minutes after scheduled landing time if you have luggage to reclaim or 25 minutes if you do not have luggage to reclaim.
In our experience at Heathrow these exit periods have proved to be a reasonable guide.
Our appointment times are subject to service availability so you may be allocated the next available meet VIP time during peak travel periods.
11) How early should I pre-book my parking with VIP?
As this is an appointment based service which is particularly good value, availability is limited, especially at peak travel periods such as for example school holidays, Easter, Christmas & New Year. To avoid disappointment we recommend that you reserve your parking well in advance, although we will always endeavour to accommodate last minute bookings if at all possible.
